Aberbran Caravan and Motorhome Club Site, Aberbran, Brecon
Set in the foothills of the Brecon Breacons and located about 2 miles out of Brecon, the Aberbran Club site is a small, peaceful oasis of a site that you will want to visit time and time again! The site itself was previously an old railway station and is ideally located for those who would like a base for a walking or bird-watching holiday, or a convenient place for local sightseeing. The site is run by volunteers and is well maintained.
The National Park Mountain Centre is worth a visit to learn more about the Brecon Beacons National Park and enjoy a lunch in the onsite cafe and the nearby market town of Brecon has everything you will need in terms of shops, restaurants and places of interest (The Cathedral, Castle, Canal, Royal Regiment of Wales Museum and the Promenade to name but a few). The Town has a Market every Tuesday and Friday and there is also a craft shop once a month on a Saturday. Local entertainment includes the Brecknock Theatre (Theatr Brycheiniog), The Muse and the Coliseum Cinema (one of the oldest traditional family owned cinemas in Wales).
As a volunteer run Centre, the site is always looking for volunteer wardens to train and support the running of this much loved site. The volunteer wardens are key to the running of this site and duties include:-
- Meeting, Greeting and Booking-in members as they arrive on site.
- Dealing with Telephone Calls
- End of month accounts
- Grounds maintenance
- Painting
- Liaison with Head Office
- Volunteer Wardens usually work for at least two consecutive weeks and full training and uniform is provided.
